After 70-plus short film projects, Calgary filmmaker Sandi Somers has finally gotten her shot, and she does not disappoint.

Yes, it’s true. There were beavers on set from Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail, Alberta. It was quite a challenge, as the pond just west of Millarville was still 90% frozen when production arrived to shoot with Gus-Gus the beaver – but mother nature cooperated (on this day) and gave the team just enough to get their day. And, Gus-Gus… he was a star.
